UNAUTHORIZED SYNOPTIC HISTORY OF ECOS

ECOS is the name of a series of international conferences started
in 1985, that focused on modern aspects of thermal sciences with particular
emphasis on Thermodynamics and its applications in energy conversion
systems and processes. While thermodynamics is still an important
ECOS driving topic, ECOS has taken on a much broader look at energy
and its sustainability, based on its pillars of environment, economics,
and society.
The name ECOS ("home" in Greek), was coined for it in
1992 to make a point that our conferences are home for a fruitful
and friendly exchange of ideas, and that we need to protect the earth
as our home. ECOS was incorporated in 2021.
ECOS has organized conferences of 3-4 days having 8-15 sessions each,
every year since 1985, as listed below.
